Hernando County students have access to many full time online options, the two most common FREE online learning platforms our students select are: Hernando eSchool and Florida Virtual School (FLVS).
Hernando eSchool Full-Time is the top choice for most students — learn from local, certified teachers who know our district, stay supported, and earn your Hernando County high school diploma!
Some students choose FLVS Full Time. Both platforms provide quality online instruction, but Hernando eSchool offers the added benefit of local support and connection.

📝 State Testing (EOCs & State Assessments)
Testing responsibilities depend on your enrollment status:

Full-Time FLVS students: Your parent and FLVS coordinates your state testing.

Full-Time Hernando eSchool students: Hernando eSchool coordinates your state testing.

Homeschool students taking individual online courses: Must register through the Hernando County Homeschool Office. Once registered, testing will be scheduled at Springstead High School or another approved Hernando County testing site. The appropriate office (FLVS or Homeschool) will provide login credentials and testing details.
📅 Important:
The deadline for May testing is typically in March. Summer testing opportunities may also be available. Contact the Homeschool Office, Hernando eSchool, or FLVS directly for specific dates and details.
